Blog 15: Independent Component 2 Plan Approval

1.) I am going to plan the senior class prom. I plan to start this week with committee meetings and work my way up to completing the event and making it as memorable as possible.
2.) I think planning prom will actually exceed the 30 hours required since their will be many meetings, phone calls, shopping, making decorations, selling tickets, etc.
3.) Well my EQ is "what makes a prom successful?" and I'm planning my class' prom so I'm basically trying to answer my own EQ through my independent component.

Blog 14: Independent Component 1

Literal:

a.) "I, Ana, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work"
b.) Purther
c.) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApwXYtW5K75ZdFZrOWozdTJzbjNSVWFyZWw2U0Z5a0E
d.) I basically created a senior activity in which we all gathered together, ate, watched movies, and played games.

Interpretive:

  • Due to the fact that my senior topic is event planning, I decided to plan an event for my class which was the Sunset BBQ. I was in charge of a committee, held meetings, checked prices for everything, organized games, looked for a location, etc. It took me a month to be able to plan the whole event which helped me complete my 30 hours.
Applied:
  • It helped me understand from first-hand experience how much work actually has to go into planning an event.
    • Having to hold constant meetings
    • Shopping for everything you need
    • Fundraising money for the food
